We will work together to find a customized treatment plan that is as unique as your healing journey.
initial appointment
90 minutes
During the initial session, I ask questions about your main health concern and what brought you to my clinic. I then inquire about your body’s various systems, diet and lifestyle so that I can better understand what is going on with your mind/body/spirit. Finally, I give you a full acupuncture session and we discuss a viable treatment plan that will work for you.

During the follow up treatments, I ask some relevant health questions in the beginning of the hour, but then get you on the table fairly quickly so you can have a long, relaxing treatment.

Acupuncture involves using very fine needles to move energy called “qi” within meridians throughout the body to promote healing and to reduce pain. There are 12 main energetic meridians or pathways within the body that correspond to various organs.
In Chinese Medicine, pain is considered to be blockage in the channels, similar to a river that has been dammed up for a long time. When I insert the needles into specific locations on these meridians or pathways, it encourages movement in the channel, destroying the dam in the river and creating a smooth flow once again. The result is more energy moving through the body and decreased blockage that means decreased pain.

Facial acupuncture or facial rejuvenation, is a safe and natural alternative to BOTOX and cosmetic surgery. I practice a facial rejuvenation technique developed by renowned acupuncturist Michelle Gellis called Aculift.
This technique uses extremely fine needles placed in the face and scalp, and patients report that it is actually relaxing and generally pain free. The needles stimulate muscle function and increase qi flow in the face and scalp, all of which combine to lift the face and revitalize the skin. After the acupuncture treatment, small glass cups and jade gua sha tools are used on the face and scalp to further relax stress lines and wrinkles, encourage the growth of collagen and to increase movement of the blood and lymph.
Aculift lifts drooping jaw lines, diminishes wrinkles and frown lines, decreases the appearance of Rosacea redness and brown aging spots, AND addresses sagging neck lines. It addresses cosmetic concerns of the patient while also targeting the underlying constitution of the body, thereby addressing overall healing through meridian balancing and tonification. There are body points that combine with the facial points that aid in this balancing of the meridians or channels.
Another major component of this technique is collagen growth, which really becomes noticeable around 28 days into the treatments. Interested patients will need to commit to coming at least once a week for 12 weeks, or twice a week for 6 weeks to initiate collagen growth and seriously shift their skin and complexion. Some patients may require a longer time depending on their skin, body constitution and lifestyle. After the initial protocol is complete, following up with routine maintenance treatments is strongly encouraged as it can prolong the results for 5-10 years.

These two therapies are used to help clear toxins that are trapped in tissues to ease chronic and acute muscle tension and to treat and alleviate symptoms of the common cold and flu.
Cupping involves using glass or plastic cups placed on the body with varying degrees of suction. They can be retained for a few minutes, or used in combination with an analgesic oil to enable sliding of the cups on the skin.
Gua sha is similar but uses a different tool such as a buffalo horn or Chinese soupspoon. This is usually done on the neck and patients most often report that it “hurts so good”.
Both of these modalities can leave bruising, but it’s benign and moves out in 1-5 days in most cases.
Chinese herbs are an important component of Chinese medicine and are used to enhance and restore health by strengthening one’s body constitution and correcting imbalances. Chinese herbs and acupuncture are inter-related and inter-dependent. In other words they work synergistically together to heal the whole person, not just the symptom. Herbal formulas are prescribed based on the patient’s health condition and body constitution, with consideration for their lifestyle. I primarily prescribe powder formulas because I can tailor the ingredients specifically for the patient’s current condition. . The herbs, while initially may taste bitter to the typical Westerner, will eventually taste better in a couple of days. If formulated well for the patient’s constitution, the body will even start to crave the herbs. It’s strange but true. Typically 10-14 herbs make up one formula and most clients need at least 2-3 bottles before they see positive changes. I don’t always suggest herbs for every client, but sometimes they are integral in the healing process depending on the differential diagnosis.
REIKI is a Japanese “hands on” technique that works with the “universal life force energy” or “qi” and promotes health and well being through the channeling of this energy. To receive Reiki, it feels very peaceful and relaxing.
MEDICAL QI GONG is very similar to Reiki in that it is also a “hands on” energetic healing modality, but it is also a facet of Chinese Medicine with a history of more than 3000 years and is oriented towards the channels and pathways in the body. Through medical qi gong, the qi can be directed to certain parts of the body to maximize healing.
MANTRA and chanting are ancient ways to bring peace and tranquility to one’s spirit, and I usually perform these silently as I am running energy within the session.
I have found that energy work and mantra used in combination with the needles, tremendously enhances the treatment and promotes longer lasting results.
Chinese medicine treats the whole person rather than just the symptom, so I always look at diet and lifestyle for my patients and sometimes I give suggestions and information depending on what they need. I may suggest a few dietary changes to improve health, or perhaps encourage some walking throughout the week to move qi and blood, or perhaps find ways to help the patient create more calm in their lives. I’m always looking for ways to create balance within the lives of my patients, and this is one facet that I work with often.
Commonly known as E-stem, this technique involves clipping wires onto the needles and sending a gentle vibration or pulse through the body to stimulate movement of energy and to open the channels and pathways. This works especially well for patients living with pain syndromes.
patient experiences
My Neurologist told me I just needed to accept it's going to be a part of my daily life. I finally decided it was time to try something new and took a chance with acupuncture. Within four or five sessions I noticed a significant difference. At this point I've had about 12 sessions and I can tell you I'm not dizzy anymore! What a life changer! Thank you Katie for all you've done for me, you are truly remarkable.
— Rachel
“Extremely knowledgeable and incredibly passionate at what she does. As an avid runner training for various upcoming races, she’s done amazing work on my legs from soreness and when I was experiencing lower back pain. Within the next 12 hours or so I started to feel pain free and back to my normal self again. If anyone who lives in Greenville, outside of Greenville and/or happens to venture out here for vacation or work etc that’s interested in acupuncture, look no further! Thank you so much for all you do Katie!!!”

“The first day I had treatment I was able to do yoga pain free, I have no idea how long it’s been since that was possible. If you have a “thing” about needles... don’t worry. You barely know they’re there! Katie’s touch is so skilled, she had put three needles in me before I realized she was doing anything!!Give it a try.... what do you have to lose, but the pain you already have!”

“I started receiving acupuncture treatment from Katie Hamilton with The Healing Blossom Acupuncture last month— and my results are better than I hoped for.I’ve been battling chronic hives (uticaria) all year, even paying to see several specialists and have the same answer: we did your blood work and everything looks good. I was at my wit’s end, when a friend recommended me to see Katie. I was willing to try anything! I’m happy to report I am hive-FREE since starting my sessions with Katie—and I’m sleeping better, too! It’s better than a spa day! Her calm, grounded energy and soothing environment really make these treatments enjoyable.”
“I highly recommend that you make an appointment and experience this for yourself.”

“Before starting treatment, I was suffering from monthly debilitating headaches. Within a few visits, their frequency began to disapate. And now I can’t even remember when was the last time I had a migraine. Her combined use of acupuncture, reiki, and qi gong lend themselves to a relaxing and effective treatment every time.”
